A photo that took 11 months to get perfect - I arrived a few weeks too late to capture the Milky Way directly above the peak of Mount Cook (Aoraki) on one winter season in New Zealand. I took notes of the Milky Way position and calculated the dates that it would be where I needed it to be the following year. Thankfully I returned for another New Zealand winter and managed to align the clear sky, no moon and time off work to get the shot that propelled me fully into professional photography.
